Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

Thickness of the pressure cooker is extremely fine..very heavy one..looks premium..stainless steel quality is fantastic..outlook is superb..but..the handle attached to this premium cooker looks very very ugly and weak..Hence l would give 4 stars out of 5..

Disadvantages
Within months of use all the bolts are loose and can't be tightened. Because of loose handle it is very difficult to work with. It is good product till you run into this issue.

Expensive , Not easy to use . The Mechanism to put the lead is not so easy . A lots of technique and accurecy required . Not User friendly. My Wife doesnot like it at all . Finally she not using . Looks like waste of Money

Material is good. But no sharp whistle is a problem. Bit difficult to determine when to off the gas. At the same time, can't over emphasize the importance of steel cookers over aluminium ones which are proven neurotoxins.

Good heavy cooker, but lid quality & design could have been better.Lid and black bakelite are connected together with raw screws.Locking edge of lid have sharp corners.Correctly fitting lid is not very easy.
