Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

I have purchased the Hawkins Futura pressure cooker from Silkrute. But within 2-3 months usage, there is a problem that there is leakage from the lid probably due to the faulty rubber gasket or may be even the faulty lid. I would like Silkrute to take up with the manufacturer and advise the solution for the same. Daily we are facing this problem . Please advise. Ordered on 16 April 2015. I got the product delivered today around 10 A.M.Good delivery.Compared to my current 4L Futura Stainless Steel, this 3L Futura looks a tad smaller than I expected.Anyway, we are happy. It is really good to look at.It is very light as well compared to the 4L Stainless Steel one.I think it is good size for 3-4 people.We bought it for use on Induction top. We use it immediately, It works really well so far.

Received a smaller lid size. The cooker ordered was of 6 litres. But the lid received is much smaller. It doesn't fit. Destroys the whole purpose of a pressure cooker.
