I have been pestering my mother since three months for buying this product and ultimately I purchased this Cook and Serve Bowl with the pre-condition that she would return it lest she finds it ''unworthy''. I did not lose my stance and this bowl has outlived both my mother and my expectations. The only con about this product is that it seems a bit costly. But when you are buying a FUTURA product, you can't bargain with the price.The craftsmanship is good and could have been better had the lid of the bowl be made in a circular and more easy to grip handle. Anyways, a great product from Hawkins and please make sure you are buying the Right Size (3,4 or 5 Litre). The thickness of the base is such that the heat spreads uniformly and stays hot for an extended period of time.The looks of the Cook & Serve Bowl is really bewildering and if you are a housewife who would not mind spending some extra bucks then certainly Hawkins has got this product tailor made for you !!! A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY KITCHEN...

Bought it for biryani, the only trouble was to keep the lid down. Achieved my objective of dum biryani by sealing the biryani with foil wrap between the pot and lid. Similar set up with wonderchef pot didn't keep me on toes to check the lid remains in place but since Wonderchef didn't have larger capacity pot I bought this one. It's a good alternative if you are looking for higher capacity. No complaints when I cooked 2 kilo chicken curry. It's not teflon coated and therefore I bought it in first place, so it's not non-stick cause I wanted to stay away from it's toxicity. Therefore keep checking on your chicken, that extra work of keeping a chicken curry watch is way better than teflon toxicity getting released in your food or in kitchen fumes.

I have been looking for something in which I can make biryani. but I used to look at dutch ovens and all other stuff which are expensive over Rs. 5000. Later I have searched in amazon with a search term "Biryani Handi" and I happened to found this Cook and serve bowl from Hawkins priced at around Rs. 1300. this is Thick walled vessel which I am looking for and heavy which means heat will be uniform. and as soon I have received this I have prepared biryani and this is better than in any other vessel I used before. I highly recommend this.

The anodised cook and serve bowl is a good product. However, the handles are not designed with practical aspects borne in mind. The two handles on the side of the bowl are rather small to hold, especially when the bowl is filled with contents and is heavy. The handles should have been wider to get a better grip while picking up the vessel.The handle on the lid is very bad. If your hand has even a bit of oil, the handle can slip off and the lid will fall down. The handle needed to be such that it had a good grip.The lid is made of thin gauge material. So even one fall on the hard floor will make it have a dent in it.The main utensil is however well made and of thick material. That is the good part of the overall product.

Very good product.Very sturdy and very easy to clean.Looks elegant.Perfect for cooking substantial quantity.The one drawback however is the holding spot on top of the lid is too tiny:hence the grip is not much.It may tend to slip if greasy.Otherwise good in every other way.

Truly loved it. Holding the vessel itself gives a nice feeling. I received a broken handle 1st however got it replaced with 2 days. Just got the replacement delivery today and enjoyed making food in it. Thank you Amazon, your staff and your support is totalling Amazon-ing. Those who think its pressure cooker, plz it's not. It's a normal cooking vessel but good quality. Good quality just means a better product and we pay high price for it. Its originality does not change. Secondly customers who's review says it burns on bottom, plz note that start cooking is low or medium flame. It will never ever burn and you'll will save gas too. Hope this review is helpful. Not adding picture as all models are same.

Good sturdy vessel. Enough volume to cook biryani for 6-8 big eaters. easy to place seal for dum and weight can be placed above the lid. Quite heavy for hard anodised aluminium vessel. Good buy. Only complaint is that the handles and lid top for my 6 Lt vessel are small. I can get 2 fingers into the handle slot and the lid top doesn't have enough grip to pull conveniently. Still I would rate this vessel high.

This cook and serve bowl is extremely handy with its large capacity, robustness and ease to clean. The fact that we can use metal ladles while cooking or serving adds to the convenience. The lid is a snug-fit one and hence allows cooking dishes that require heat to be retained in the vessel. A must have for families that need medium to large quantities of food to be cooked on a regular basis. It is a lot better than non-stick versions in terms of hygiene and user-friendliness.

The things I liked about the product1. the look. it looks classy and sturdy2. the usability: the wide desgin makes it easy to cook items and use spoons to sort.3. the cleaning: it very easy to clean4. non stickiness: although its not a non stick, but food doesnot sticks to base as the heat is widely spread all through the base.things I do not liked1. as warned by the seller, it might break when fallen; so need to take care of that.2. nothing as of now.
