I searched for an induction friendly tawa without artificial coatings and found this "Vinod Legacy Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Dosa Tawa, 28 cm, Induction Friendly,Black, 1 Piece." It is an excellent quality cast-iron item, and I am a lifelong user of cast-iron. But on the 100C or 130C setting, it switched the induction cooker off within 3 minutes with an error message. These are the low and medium-low settings that we use our old tawa on, a non-stick thing with an induction-friendly bottom.I really wish this Vinod cast-iron tawa worked on the induction cooker, as it seems to be a well-made cast-iron item.Industrial non-stick surfaces end up slowly in your food, and in my experience, years later the previously popular coating gets banned for being toxic. Well-maintained cast-iron is non-stick and 100% natural and safe.

It’s very heavy. Handle also gets heated. After wash tawa was rusted. I’m not sure if that’s the way cast iron products are. Had to oil it again to make it look better.

After using for a month, overall good product but it does not heat evenly. Center is very hot and one side is more hot than the other. Food does not get uniform heating. At times it needs to be shifted on burner to less heating side to cook.

You need to be patient & willing to sacrifice at least first 5-6 dosas that you make. If you’re a novice, don’t buy it; buy it only if you’re an expert & have at least 10 years of dosa cooking experience.You might be wondering what’s the plus point? If you master the craft, this tawa will make you the most crispy & thin dosas you make in your life; additionally it gives you a satisfaction that you’re not cooking on Teflon. Maintenance is also crucial otherwise you will rust it out.

Comes pre seasoned an instruction manual for first use. Quality is very good, dosa came out properly without any hustle. However you might need a large burner as heat distribution is not that good, centre of dosa gets burnt
