If you don't want to be bothered with lathering up a shaving soap then this cream is awesome. Smells great, washes clean. Not very moisturizing but won't dry your skin either. Convenience can't be beat.

Fantastic Shaving Cream!

Advantages
Firstly, this is not a bad shaving cream by any stretch of imagination. My beef with it is about the pricing. If that doesn't concern you, then you may skip the rest of the review and go ahead with the purchase. Otherwise you may continue reading for more information. Alright, this is a good shaving cream. But it definitely doesn't blow my mind. What does though is the price. If I were to pick one best Indian Shaving Cream, it would be Vicco Turmeric with Sandalwood Oil. It's exceptional in every way I can imagine. And it's cheap. But I am someone who constantly keeps exploring options to see what all I like, what all I can recommend, and so on. I was drawn to this product as it said sandalwood. But unfortunately it's just in the name. Sandalwood oil /paste is the last ingredient in the list and it's at 0.4%. Yes, I am serious. So, for the 60 gms tube this comes in, it contains 0.28 gms of sandalwood oil/paste. And still they call it Sandalwood and Orange Peel shaving cream? Needless to say, it has no sandalwood smell at all. I didn't get any orange either. It smelled floral, more like orange blossom maybe. But all I got was jasmine in the many sniffs I had before the first usage. I was so unhappy because I hated jasmine. It gives me headaches. But as I started using it, the smell grew on me and I started liking it more and more. In fact I even bought their after shave in the same scent. This shaving cream produces a nice lather, which is good enough but not the best I've used. I like Godrej sensitive, Old Spice, Wild Stone shaving creams other than Vicco Turmeric with sandalwood oil. This is a notch, or even a few notches (not many though) above everything except Vicco. But I still think that's not a fair comparison. Coz they all cost about 1/10th of this. For this price point, I can only compare it with imported ones like Proraso. And the quality is not on par at all. Only price is. And remember that the Proraso creams have the import duty and added shipping cost involved in the price itself, even if it's not explicitly stated. Still 150 ml of them, which is thicker and more dense, is comparatively cheaper. And being volume based (sold by ml rather than gms) being a thicker cream is advantageous to the buyer. Still the equation is just under Rs 10 to under Rs 13 per ml while this product works out to Rs 13 per gm. And that's without any import duty as it's made locally. Considering the price, it's just about mediocre at best. I would probably never buy it again. Being a 3 pass shaver who shaves alternate days, this 60 gms tube lasted me 15 shaves. Old Spice shaving cream in 70 gms tube lasts me 18 shaves. So this lasts slightly more. But I am not saving anything as it's about 10 times as expensive. If you wanna try a new Indian Shaving Cream that's premium only in price, then this is for you. For any other reason, I would definitely not recommend it at all.

Love it! It’s has lasted for a good 4 months, and this is with everyday shaving! It’s an amazing buy. A tiny amount is all that’s required for a shave and thus would last for a very long time. Complete value for money!

Shave with cold water splash No pre-shave Used Pearl L55 old version (balanced to medium aggressive close comb) with Gillette 365 blade - amazing combination (for me). Note - blade on its 3rd use today. Forest essentials shaving cream (spicy and you have landed in an ayurvedic spa centre) applied using UrbanMooch blue handle shaving brush (synthetic) - face lather Note: to my nose, an immediate whiff from tube offered hint of sweet sandalwood and spicy orange note. As I generated the lather (which was very easy), the typical ayurvedic spa centre note overpowered almost everything else. The scent profile is restricted to your soul and does not linger. The undertone is some orange spicyness, some prickly effect of neem and ginger, eventual coolness of menthol and basil which effectively made this ayurvedic affair quite spicy. Imagine getting offered a shave by your spa masseuse who chooses to shave you in the same room where you are getting a spa (and you do not have a choice). Slickness is not bad. Residual slickness and post shave moisturization are okay. The cream can take in a lot of water which may improve the slickness. The result was a very close comfortable shave which I believe is due to the brilliant combination of the razor to blade to cream. Additional pics with contents uploaded. First pass - with the grain Second pass - across the grain Alum (zilch) Post shave included application of modified Botnik essentials witch hazel menthol after shave lotion (cooling) followed by application of Bsc after shave balm (witch hazel, menthol). A healing shave. Join the reddit group - Wetshavers_India

Disadvantages
Don't buy anything from forest essentials. They have reduced the size to almost half in the same price. Even though their products are not premium, they are selling them for much higher rates. Even they are using poor packaging. Also they have not open for public/customer reviews and returns. This is the last time I bought their product.
