Great product. I was looking for sun dried tomatoes not steeped in oil for a long time and was delighed to find this. The tomatoes are full of flavour and not too big so its easy to take a few for a salad without having to cut from big chunks. On the downside, since they are so dehydrated, it is not possible to use them directly without a little pre-soaking so cannot be used in a rush.

The tomatoes are too dry. Even after being soaked in a cream-mayonnaise mixture with shredded chicken (as part of the recipe for chicken and sun-dried tomatoes sandwich) for about an hour, barely any juice had entered into the product and we could barely bite into pieces of these dried tomatoes. Finally ended up having to throw away these pieces whenever one came into the mouth with each bite. The tomatoes seem genuine enough from their aroma taken off the packet - smells like tomato puree or Heinz ketchup. However - too dry.

It is sun-dried tomato indeed. I had doubts after reading some negative feedback. Devoid of any flavors. Too dry.I have emptied the contents in a dry glass jar and occasionally put them in the sunlight.Earlier, I had mailed urban platter asking about the usage instructions but never got any reply, and so I searched on the net here is how I use it in cooking:It tastes leathery, doesn't have the zing like the real thing you may buy from the souk.

These sundries tomatoes need to be rehydrated, so if you're not prepared to spend some time reconstituting them in water, wine, and oil - then don't buy. I bought this to save money as the sundries tomatoes in oil are very expensive. Once I reconstituted them, I used in pastas, tapanades, and salads. Very satisfied.
