Firstly Silkrute needs to update their packaging for this product.... Mine came just in plastic bag with a layer of bubble wrap.... The product wasn't in a box so it got dented a bit in the transit..... Now the product itself does the job..... As for the price range, it's a bang.... Supposed to be applied on sketches and drawings from a distance of about a feet or a bit more, so the spray can spread evenly on the drawing.... If you apply it from too close distance then the paper will get wet and rippled..and too much of this spray applied on a drawing is a waste ........After applied it dries out pretty fast and leaves a rough drywall texture on the drawing which obviously indicates that the drawing is now protected from smudges .... The only problem with this fixative is the odour it leaves ..... It's like a diluted, scented Favicol, which smells good for few mins but then it starts to create headache ... So just a suggestion don't apply it inside your house.... Do it outside... After all said....It's a good product for the price, if you can afford, you can go for products of higher price range.... but for casual artists like me, this product does the job pretty well.....

Good work

Advantages
1) product is easy to use. However avoid using it around glass surfaces, tiles etc. I saw a coat of this spray on the surfaces the art work was placed on 2) odour is unbearable. It just lingers on for a long while in the house as well as paper. My house is really well ventilated and sunny. But the smell stays on

Good - but words of caution from a novice

Works like a charm! Beautifully coats a protective layer on your paintings. But be sure to wait one day to dry your sketches (especially if ur using ball point pens for outline). Only con is it's a bit expensive and smells bad too.

This is very important tool for every artist. I received it in good condition but the packaging was not so good that's why I gave it 4 stars. But the item was in good condition. You have to use it carefully as it is cautious as it comes in contact woth eyes or skin.

As other reviews have already told about its fevicol like smell, keep in mind to spray this while outdoor to make smell disperse quickly. As for colour, I do see a noticeable increase in colour saturation after spraying this. Gives a kinda wet look to the sprayed surface. I specifically bought this to prevent QR stickers/price charts (have 5-6 of them) stuck near soapboxes to stop bleeding colour when random water droplets fall on them in my wash shop. The product does this job with flying colours. If you need to rainproof then better to get yourself an automotive-grade clearcoat not this. The product also makes printouts UV proof. Have sprayed it on price chart which was on the outer wall and colours look vibrant on it. Cons: it reduces smudging not eliminates it. the product doesn't have secondary box packaging by the manufacturer and comes in an open can hence impossible to know whether the product tampered with. the shipment was in normal Silkrute bag hence product had lots of dents. Better to replace if the product is punctured. Conclusion: A product you can use even if you are not an artist. Recommended making things splash-proof not waterproof.

A nice product to make printouts splash-proof. Its not just a mere art supply
