It has helped my Canvas as well as the other surface where I generally paint like concrete to help the paint stay for a longer period of time with giving it a smooth finish.

I don't know if all fixatives are supposed to smell so strongly? But it has a strong distinct smell. Works well only from 1 ft distance as instructed. Don't ruin your art by spraying it from closer. The spray press was a little faulty in mine. But didn't want to return it as I had urgent need. So I Kept it.

I guess spray is fine..but sometimes it just doesn't work well and you have to do like 4 coats before it actually sticks or else charcoal is always blending from few areas.

I cant stand the smell of this, but this is the best budget buy for my portraits finishing touches. A couple of points that Id like to share - 1 - the instructions may tell you to use it in a ventilated room, but I would suggest you to use it in your balcony or outside the house. The smell lingers on for hours, trust me! 2 - it gives a perfect, transparent finish sans any matte or shine effect. 3 - you can sketch with graphite over it, but can not erase or correct the graphite strokes underneath the layer of varnish. Be 100% sure of your final strokes before you hit the nozzle. 4 - hold it far, far away, about a foot to be safe. The closer you spray, the higher the chance of damaging the paper, or powerwashing the graphite powder and pushing the grains into a different direction. Also, spraying it from afar uses less of the varnish, hence you dont waste it either.

hi it is good product for the price we are paying . problem is it is not at all cool stuff. it is super smelly and your room will be filled with lots of spray smell. i certainly won't recommend to a pro artist but you can use it on your rough sketches. i liked it and giving an okayish marks as it does the job. it can remove some shades if you are using on charcoal.i won't recommend it if you are going to build a pro display / portfolio kinda book to display to a professional people but you can use if u r a hobbyist.if you are pro buy winsor newton spey with it to apply on final shades and sketches. thx sayantan
